2014 4-H Quiz Bowl

Who proposed the 4-H motto? What two officers should sign the 4-H club monthly minutes? What project should you enroll if you want to raise broilers?

These were some of the questions that 26 teams of three 4-Hers were asked at the Post Rock District 4-H Quiz Bowl which was held on January 4th at the Sylvan School. It was sponsored by the Post Rock Extension District and the Bullfoot Creek Sylvan Hustlers 4-H Club.

In the Senior division the 3rd place team was Team Titans with members Brody Schofield, JC Huehl and Mikayla Breneman. Second place went to That One Team made up of Kerstin Decker, Morgan Kubick and Jedd Rowden. First place honors went to The West Beloit Sr’s which was Karsen Odle, Bryce Nichols and Sidney Odle.

4-H members enjoy the Quiz Bowl competition because they get to compete on teams, come up with creative team names, and most importantly they get to have fun while learning.

The winners of the Junior division were the Summer B’s. On this team were Kyle Frederking, Kilby Meyer & Paige Ringler. Second place went to the Cougars which was Lilly Hartman and Michealla Kastrup. Third place went to the Song Birds which included Kelsey Decker and Jaden Huehl.

The Outstanding Club Award goes to the club with the most wins. This years recipient was the Bullfoot Creek Sylvan Hustlers 4-H Club. Other 4-H clubs in the District with teams participating in the event included: Jr. Sunflower, Cloverleaf, Asherville Achievers, Mankato Eager Beavers, Salt Creek, West Beloit and Southeast Coyotes.
